The Fall of Jerusalem in Stereo: Jeremiah & Ezekiel | Week 34

Download MP3
This week, the words of Jeremiah and Ezekiel play like sad country song in stereo. Jeremiah croons from the left ear, Ezekiel belts from the right, and together they narrate the collapse of Jerusalem. The temple falls, the people despair, and the lights go dark on Israel’s freedom.

But buried in the sorrow are refrains of hope—promises of something new. Jeremiah and Ezekiel both whisper about a covenant unlike Sinai’s—a future relationship with God that can’t be broken, because it rests entirely on Him. This week we’ll hear the old song one more time, and start to notice the fresh notes that hint at what the New Testament will soon resolve.
